Heather Locklear Arrested for traffic offence

'Melrose Place' actress Heather Locklear may spend time in jail after hit and run

"If it's found she's in violation of her probation, she could be facing a maximum of 90 days in custody," Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter said.
Locklear is due in Ventura County court May 17. Santa Barbara officials said they'll likely wait to take action until the current hit-and-run case is resolved.
"I can only say at the time we spoke to her, we had no indication [drugs or alcohol] were a factor," Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Ross Bonfiglio said.

Heather Locklear Arrested Over Car Crash

Locklear's lawyer, Blair Berk, said in a statement: "Ms Locklear was cited with a misdemeanour traffic ticket as she is the registered owner of the vehicle.
"She was never taken into custody. The matter is still being looked into as it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle."
A blood test showed no alcohol or illegal drugs in her system. Authorities said her prescription medicine could have affected her ability to drive.

Locklear arrested for traffic offence

The Daily Mail reports that the 48-year-old Melrose Place star was arrested after reports of a crash in Westlake California where a sign had been knocked down. Police were called to the scene by a neighbour who heard the incident at around 4am.
It is reported that the police found debris at the scene which linked the incident to Locklear's car. The actress has been cited for a misdemeanor hit-and-run.

Actress Heather Locklear Cited For Hit And Run Case

She hit a no-parking sign on Saturday, in California in the wee hours of the morning. Then she did not notify anybody about the incident and fled the scene, as the reports suggest. The place was quite close to her residence as the tabloids have said. The Ventura County Sheriffs managed to trace her black BMW and understood what happened at the spot. She was hence cited for a misdemeanor hit-and-run offence. She was later released after paying a fine.

The spokesperson of the Ventura County Sheriff said that the actress was not taken to a Police station or handcuffed as such. It was because her offense was not of a severe kind. She cooperated during the interrogation. The sheriff’s office did not reveal much information on what happened after that. She was arrested in 2008 for DUI and pleaded no contest. Thereafter, she was made to serve a three-year probation term. Again she was arrested in that year for driving after consuming prescription medication.
