What Going On - "NCIS" TV Series - Pauley Perrette - Michael Weatherly
What is "NCIS" TV Series ?
The concept and characters were initially introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS series JAG (JAG episodes 8.20 and 8.21). The show, a spin-off from JAG, premiered on September 23, 2003 on CBS and, to date, has aired six full seasons and has gone into syndicated reruns on USA Network, Sleuth and Ion Television. Donald Bellisario, who created JAG as well as the well-known series Magnum, P.I. and Quantum Leap, is co-creator and executive producer of NCIS.
NCIS was originally referred to as "Navy NCIS" during Season 1; however, "Navy" was later dropped from the title as it was redundant. NCIS returned for a seventh season on September 22, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. EST and was followed by its spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles starring Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J.
NCIS is the law enforcement and counterintelligence arm of the United States Navy. NCIS teams include special agents, forensic experts, investigators, analysts, security specialists, and a variety of support personnel. NCIS was founded by the United States Navy for the purpose of investigating crimes involving service men or women of the Marines and Navy.
Pauley Perrette Dishes on NCIS, "Abby Stuff"
"I don't know exactly what all the details are, but they basically told me, get your rest, because there's going to be a lot of Abby stuff coming up for May," the actress said.
"There are a lot of Abby-centric things going on. There was talk of a trip to Mexico," the original NCIS cast member added. "There's an interesting Latino stranger."
'NCIS' stars seek bumps in pay; How much is Michael Weatherly worth?
With NCIS preparing to wrap its seventh season on April 29, the cast has plenty to crow about: The CBS drama is not only averaging 18.94 million viewers (up 5% versus last season), it’s the most-watched scripted show of the year. So it’s hardly any wonder that co-stars Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo), Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto), David McCallum (Dr. Mallard) and Sean Murray (Timothy McGee) are looking to score bigger salaries before the show returns next fall.

Pauley Perrette who plays the role of Abby in NCIS is excited about the season-ending episodes to come. The TV has just resumed from a spring break this week.
“I don’t know exactly what all the details are, but they basically told me, get your rest, because there’s going to be a lot of Abby stuff coming up for May,” the actress said.
Pauley Perrette is the original cast of NCIS. She said the new episodes have a lot of new things going on. It includes a trip to Mexico, and a meeting with an interesting Latino stranger.
When asked about a possible romance, Pauley Perrette said “perhaps”.
'NCIS' Cast in Contract Dispute
According to Deadline, four of its stars -- Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum and Sean Murray -- are still not signed beyond the end of this season, leaving the future of the cast in limbo.
According to the report, all four have been given "low-ball" offers to re-sign with the show, which is currently in its seventh season on CBS. At least two of the four are making far less than $100,000 per episode, which is already on the low-end for a network show.
Just how much each star is making per-episode is unknown.
If contract negotiations fall through, the show would presumably be in for a major shift in storyline, considering how integral their characters -- Weatherly and Perrette's in particular -- play into the show. Even worse: No word yet on how their stories would be wrapped up. (And here we thought 'Lost' fans had issues.)
David McCallum confirms 'NCIS' return
Yesterday, McCallum was named as one of four cast members who are seeking pay rises from CBS.
However, McCallum's manager Abe Hoch has now explained that the actor already has a contract for the eighth season.
"I'm sure some of the others are negotiating, but he's not affected by it," Hoch told TV Guide magazine. "He falls into the Mark Harmon/Rocky Carroll category [of people who already have contracts]. He's signed for additional seasons."
